BERLIN

The Berlin underground (U-Bahn) has nine lines. Three of them mainly cover the city's monumental areas:
the orange U2 , the brown U5 , and the purple U6 .

Most stations on the U2 , U5 , and U6 subway lines are located in close proximity to Berlin's most important landmarks.

To complement your visit to Berlin, you can use the metro lines U1 and U3 , the suburban line S7 and the city bus 100.

LINE S7 (Suburban trains)

The S7 line of the Berlin commuter rail network will take you from the "ALEXANDERPLATZ" station to POTSDAM ( ABC zones): SANSSOUCI PALACE .

METRO LINES U1 AND U3

Finally, to visit the BERLIN WALL you can take the LINES U1 AND U3 , from the metro station "HALLESCHES TOR" (Line U6) to the metro station "SCHLESISCHES TOR" (Line U1 and U3).

BUS - LINE 100

To visit "the victory column" (SIEGESSÄULE) we can take BUS 100. Main stops:
Alexanderplatz / Museumsince / Under den linden / Bradenburger Tor / Siegessäule / Zoologischer Garten.

OTHER DATA

➤Walking distances in the historic center, from one end to the other, can vary between 2 and 4 kilometers. For example, from Alexanderplatz , you can walk to the Bradenburger Tor (2.6 km) in 35 minutes.

➤ Two large avenues are the backbone of the city: "Friedichhstrasse" and "Unter den Linden".

➤BERLIN CENTRAL TRAIN STATION is "BERLIN HAUPTBAHNHOF ". It has a connection to the U5 line , which takes you directly into the city center, where you can connect to other subway lines.

The tickets or passes that interest tourists are those that cover zones AB and ABC.

Zone AB corresponds to the historic center of Berlin, and ABC allows you to travel to both the Airport and Potsdam (Sanssouci).

Zone AB:

Single ticket: 3.80 Euros,
24-hour ticket: 10.60 Euros

ABC Zone:

Single ticket 4.70 Euros
24-hour ticket: 12.30 Euros

There is a transport card for tourists with discounts on admission to many monuments and attractions in Berlin: " Berlin WelcomeCard ".

Interestingly, there are no access control turnstiles in Berlin's metro stations; Their policy is based on trust in travelers. Tickets must be validated at machines located at the entrance or on the platforms. Inspections are often carried out.
